Roy Greene Hickman

August 5, 1961 - October 27, 2011

Roy Greene Hickman, age 74, formerly of Fulton, Mo., passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011, in Tucson, Ariz. He was born November 27, 1936, to Richard and Bertha Hickman. He was married on August 5, 1961, to Ann Sue Williams. He graduated from Fulton High School in 1955 and then attended Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville, Mo. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps. Roy was a bricklayer and worked for many companies in Missouri and Arizona. Roy was a part of the team of masons that reconstructed the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldemanbury on the campus of Westminster College in Fulton, Mo. He was also a member of the Arizona Masonry Guild. He also volunteered to teach a "hands on" masonry class for the University of Arizona. He was an avid fan of the Arizona Wildcats and the Mizzou Tigers. "The Sandbox" will be greatly missed by many. He is survived by a daughter, Alicia Kaufmann of Fulton, Mo. and her husband John and their children Andrea and Ryan; a son, Grant Hickman of Naperville, Ill. and his wife Etsuko and their children, Duke and Cooper; a son, Jay Hickman of Sahuarita, Ariz. and his wife Shannon and their children, Sigourney, Granada, Ari, Remington, Athen and Soyr; a daughter Libby Nunez of Abilene, Texas and her husband Dave and their children, Ashley and Eddie; one sister, Lenoir Gerdenics of Jefferson City, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Marcille Hickman of Kingdom City, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Ruth Hickman of Fulton, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Patricia Copeland of Fishers, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Richard Glen, James Reed, Jesse Clyde; and sister, Millie Ann. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on November 26 at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury in Fulton, Mo. A Celebration of Life will be held following the service at 2:30 p.m. at The Grille in Fulton, Mo.
