Don Richard Anderson

Don Richard Anderson, age 77, of Williamsburg, Mo., died on Sunday, November 6, 2011, at the Jonesburg Nursing and Care Center in Jonesburg, Mo. Don Richard Anderson was born December 26, 1933, in Mexico, Mo., to John August Anderson and Minda Marie White Anderson. Mr. Anderson married Verla Sue Zuroweste on April 8, 1955, at Union City, Tenn. Mr. Anderson was a self-employed grain and livestock farmer all of his life. He loved spending time with his family and visiting with his many friends. Mr. Anderson attended the Old Auxvasse Nine-Mile Presbyterian Church; was a former member of the Lion's Club in Williamsburg, Mo.; enjoyed going to Old Threshers Shows, going to farm sales, deer hunting and restoring old tractors. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife: Verla Sue Zuroweste Anderson of Williamsburg, Mo.; two children: Debbie Anderson and husband Ray Burton of Dixon, Mo.; John Anderson and wife Cheryl of Williamsburg, Mo.; four grandchildren: Lyndsay McKeown and husband Brendan; Lauren Anderson and fiancÈ Michael Terry; Jordan Zerr and husband Derek and Jake Anderson; and many friends. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, John August Anderson and Minda Marie White Anderson; and one brother, William "Bill" Anderson. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at the Old Auxvasse Nine Mile Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg, Mo. The Reverend Jim Cruickshank will officiate and interment will be in the Williamsburg Cemetery in Williamsburg, Mo. Casket bearers include Jake Anderson, Ray Burton, Steve Gray, Kenny Hoover, Danny McCormack, and John Wortmann. Honorary casket bearers include Ralph Werder, Robert Hopper and Don Huhman.
