Loyd Douglas "Doug" Martin, 57, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011, at his home. He was born September 2, 1953, in El Paso, Texas, the son of Loyd E. and Myrtle Kathryn (Underwood) Martin of Fulton, Missouri. Doug was a long time employee of Harbison-Walker Refractories in Fulton and was currently employed with the City of Fulton Gas Department. He was a graduate of North Callaway High School and attended one year of college in Kirksville, Missouri. He was an avid NASCAR and Sprint car-racing fan, he loved Chevy trucks, collecting antiques and spending time with his family on the farm. In addition to his parents, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons, Clinton Daniel Martin and his wife, Carrie, of Columbia, Missouri and Zachary James Martin of Fulton, Missouri; one daughter, Lisa Kathryn Martin of Fulton, Missouri; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. His paternal grandparents, James B. and Gladys Martin preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri, with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri. Entombment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
