William C. Bennett, 73, of Millersburg, Mo., passed away Monday, July 25, 2011, at his home. He was born June 20, 1938, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of the late Clyde Thomas and Elsie (Rodebaugh) Bennett. On May 29, 1968, he was united in marriage to Judith (Blair) Bennett, who survives at their home. In addition to his wife of 43 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three daughters, Catherine (Kevin) Smith of Marthasville, Mo., Valerie (Ray) Fain-Vanfossen of Marshall, Mo. and Jennifer (Randy) Spencer of Millersburg, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Preston, Rebekah and Morgan Spencer, Jessica Smith, Allison (Chase) Webb, Katie (Josh) Zollenhoeffer, Ryan (Krystle) Smith, Lisa Smith and Jason (Tara) Fain; several great-grandchildren. His parents and one sister, Helen Fiebig preceded him in death. Bill moved to Fulton in 1973, where he owned and operated Billís Service Station in New Bloomfield, Mo. for 32 years from 1974 to 2006. He was a member of the McCredie United Methodist Church. He enjoyed visiting with his friends at his station and at the Short Stop in Millersburg. He loved spending time with his grandchildren at Cedar Creek and Little Dixie Lake. He liked to mow, watch lightning storms and was an avid NASCAR fan. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011, at McCredie United Methodist Church in Kingdom City, Mo., with Reverend Terry Lippstreu officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Mo. Interment will be at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
