Betty Lee Garriott, 79, of Fulton, passed away at University Hospital on Monday, May 13, 2019, with loved ones by her side. She was born in Callaway County, Missouri on August 27, 1939, the daughter of the late William Clarence Winingear and the late Pearl Evalina (Felkner) Winingear. Betty retired from Fulton State Hospital where she worked as a Security Aide after 34-1/2 years of service. When her health allowed, she enjoyed working in the yard and gardening. Betty also enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading, and playing cards. Those remaining to cherish her memory include son, Richard Glenn Garriott of Fulton; daughters, Vicky Lynn McDonald of Fulton, Rhonda Gwenn Schenewerk (Charles) of Wardsville, Brenda Kay Scott of Fulton, and Kimberly Dawn Garriott of Thompson; brother, Troy Ruben Winingear (Linda) of Fulton; sisters, Ellen Robbins of Lemoille, Nev., Naomi Taylor (William) of Lewistown, Ill., and Dean Garriott (Donald) of Fulton; and several grand and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Brent Lee Garriott; and granddaughter, Sheryl McDonald. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
