Patrick Brumett III, 74, of Kingdom City, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019. He was born August 3, 1944 in Aurora, Illinois to Patrick Brumett Jr. and Bessie Bernis (Bechtel) Brumett. Pat grew up in Kingdom City, helping on his family's farm and later finding his passion for being a mechanic. He graduated from Fulton High School in 1962. Pat held a variety of jobs until he started working for Roger Redmon in the mid 1980s where he was a mechanic and tow truck driver for over 30 years. He worked as Roger's right-hand man until Roger's passing in 2009. In his spare time, Pat loved fixing up old John Deere tractors and tinkering on anything that needed to be fixed. He also enjoyed telling stories and talking to anyone who would listen. Pat is survived by family friends, Brad, Bobbie (Redmon), Claire, and Chase Murray; Betty and Triston Redmon; Tim, Wendy (Jones) and Josh Powers; Brett Orf; Jeff and Shelly (Jones) Dunavant; Zac and Danyelle Eads; and Linda Davis. In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his long-time best friend, Roger Redmon. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Hatton.
