Leta Mae Owen, 82, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019, at Presbyterian Manor with her sister by her side. Leta Mae was born on September 6, 1936, in Callaway County to the late Erwin and Reta Miller Hopsecker. She was married to Richard Leon Owen on May 16, 1959, in Fulton, and he preceded her in death in 2017. Leta Mae was a 1955 graduate of Fulton High School. Immediately after her graduation, she went to work as an auditor for the Missouri Department of Revenue Motor Vehicle Division. She worked there for over 40 years until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church in Fulton. She enjoyed painting, ceramics and flower arranging, but her greatest love was visiting and spending time with her family and friends. Leta Mae is survived by her sister, Dorothy Boyce of Fulton; brother-in-law, William "Bill" Owen and his wife Carol of Fulton; nieces and nephews, Terry Schmid, Stacey (Andy) Bonderer and Rhonda Risch all of Fulton; great-nieces, Ashley Owen, Emma Bonderer, Anna Bonderer; great-nephews, Dylan Atterberry, Darrell Risch and Dalton Risch. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rae Ann Schmid; brothers-in-law, Loyd Gene Boyce and Anton Schmid; sister-in-law, Melba Owen; nephews, Alfred Ray Schmid, Brian Christian Owen, Darrell Wayne Owen; and nieces, Martha Schmid Carroll and Brenda Kay Owen. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association both in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, Missouri 65251.
