Lucy May Browning, 82, of Auxvasse, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 29, 2019, surrounded by family She was born on March 18, 1937, in Festus, Missouri, the daughter of the late Robert Kenshalo and the late Ida Marie (Wallace) Kenshalo. On October 20, 1953, Lucy was united in marriage to James L. Browning. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1996. Lucy loved sewing, crafts, and playing dominos. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed cooking for company. Lucy was a teacher at heart but not professionally. She wholeheartedly loved her children, grandchildren, and family and dedicated her life to taking care of them. She would often go into the woods or hayfields to help her husband with his work. Lucy is survived by sons, Lewis James Browning (Becky) of Auxvasse, and Cloyd Lee Browning (Renay) of Auxvasse; daughters, Cynthia Louise Partian (Joe) of Broken Arrow, Okla., Sheila Dian Logan (Wayne) of Williamsburg, Deborah Sue Jones (Jon) of Auxvasse, Julia Carol Browning (James Roslien) of Madison, and Lisa Jane Deardorff of Kingdom City; step-son, Roger L. Browning of Lawrence, Kan.; brother, Larry Kenshalo of Alton, Ill.; sisters, Ida Marie Starkey and Loretta Joyce Moore, both of Alton, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Along with her parents and husband, Lucy was preceded in death by son, Robert Jacob Browning; step-sons, John A. and James L. Browning; brothers, Eddie, Odel, and Cloyd Kenshalo; two grandsons; and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastors Bruce Williamson and Joe Partain officiating. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at the funeral home. Private interment will be in New Hope Cemetery.
