Kathryn Stiller

Kathryn Stiller (nee Hastings), age 87, died at home Friday, March 22, 2019, peacefully with her family in attendance. She was born in Evanston, Illinois to the late Dwight and Carolyn Hastings. She was married to the late Milton Stiller on December 27, 1952. Mrs. Stiller earned a Nursing degree and RN certification at the University of Iowa in 1953. She applied that training as a mother and designated nurse of the neighborhood. Her life was dedicated to her family serving in whatever role was required, Den Mother, Room Mother, Sunday School Teacher, Piano teacher, Psychologist and most of all encourager. She described herself most often as a cock-eyed optimist which is how she lived her life always looking for the positive in everything. She is survived by three sons and two daughters, Mark (Judy) Stiller of Ellisville, Paul (Linda) Stiller of Solon, Ohio, David Stiller of Queensbury, New York, Terri (Eric) Jackson of Manchester, Mo. and Tracy (Jon) Marak of Manchester; brother, Eugene Hastings of Aurora, Colorado; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Stiller; a brother, Donn; a daughter, Carolyn; and a son, John. Memorial Service was held at Manchester United Methodist Church Chapel, 129 Woods Mill Rd., Manchester, Mo. on Tuesday, March 26, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a gift to Memory Care Home Solutions, 4389 West Pine, St. Louis, MO 63108.
