Betty Lu Ausfahl

Betty Lu Ausfahl, 93, of Fulton, Missouri, peacefully passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on March 28, 1925 in Cuba, Illinois to the late Harry and Katherine Smith. She was married to Leslie Ausfahl for 61 years until he preceded her in death in 2004. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Fulton and she will be remembered for her excellent quilting and being a fantastic cook. Betty also enjoyed gardening, ceramics, reading western novels and watching western television shows. Along with her husband, Betty worked at Northrup King Seed Company in Fulton for several years and spent many years working on the family farm. Betty is survived by one daughter, Linda (Robert) Schaefer of Fulton; one son, Larry Ausfahl of Fulton; three grandchildren, Rob Schaefer, Robin Schaefer and Clint (Jamie) Ausfahl; along with great-granddaughter, Kanada Ausfahl. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Reeder. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Fulton. The family will receive guests from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Carmel Cemetery Association in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, MO 65251.
