Susanna Mae Maddox, 82, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Fulton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Sue was born on April 6, 1936 in Bridgeport, Illinois to the late Raymond and Nellie Nettleton Murry. She was married to Oscar Maddox on November 15, 1959 in Olney, Illinois and he survives. She was a 1954 graduate of Richland County High School in Olney, Illinois and she was a member of Reform Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and played the piano. Sue was very good at sewing and she made clothes for her children when they were young. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping and making quilts for her grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Homer (Deanna) Maddox; four daughters, Susanna (Kevin) Cordell, Christina (Kevin) Hamilton, Twilla (Michael) Gerling and Carol (Kelly) Choate; four brothers, Harold, Donald, Glen and Kenneth Murry; one sister, Virginia Wigall; 16 grandchildren, Mallory Ainsworth, Rachael Hatfield, Danielle Miloro, Kyle Maddox, Caleb Propst, Kara Boyle, Kayla Brooksher, Karen Parker, Charlene Hoke, Derrick Hamilton, Michael Gerling Jr., Joshua Gerling, Aaron Gerling, Brandon Jaegers, Brooke Loethen and Brett Choate; 27 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members. Sue was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Steve Murry; and two sisters, Elizabeth Nestleroad and Opal Murry. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. The family will receive guests from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
