Samuel Wayne Laughlin, 91, of Mokane, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at his home, surrounded by family. He was born on December 24, 1927 in Miami, Missouri, the son of the late Frank Theodore Laughlin and the late Edna Bell (Ramey) Laughlin. Sam was married to Faith "Joy" (Dorrance) Laughlin, who survives his passing. Sam served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was an active AA sponsor for 38 years. Sam was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Mokane. Along with his wife, Sam is survived by sons, Francis Wayne Laughlin (Carol) of California, Randy Laughlin of Montana, Ronnie Laughlin-Towne (Diane) of New Bloomfield, Troy Laughlin (Diana) of California, Ronald Joyner of Mokane, and Robin Joyner of California; daughters, Carol Feaster of Mokane, Linda Laughlin of Fulton, Barb Laughlin of Fulton, Terri Doty (Pat) of Fulton, and Susan Atterberry (David) of Calwood; daughter-in-law, Donna Joyner; brothers, Russell Laughlin (Sharon) of Mokane, and Robert "Monk" Laughlin of Fulton; sisters, Marge Sessler of Fulton and Lois Spencer (Bob) of Mokane; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Laughlin, and Clarence "Skip" Laughlin; sisters, Sally Wilson, Mary Bell Ward, Betty Lou Laughlin; and step-sons, Rick Joyner and Steven Joyner. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Brother David Coleman officiating. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
