Dennis Lee Berry, 72, of Tebbetts, passed away at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics on Sunday, June 16, 2019. He was born in Mokane, Missouri on August 17, 1946, the son of the late Lloyd Berry and the late Helen Lorene (Meyer) Berry. Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was one of only a few from his company that returned home. He is credited with saving the life of his fellow soldier by carrying him to safety and packing his wound with mud to keep him alive. Dennis worked for the Katy Trail Railroad and W.A. Rootes. In his spare time, Dennis liked to piddle and work on old cars. Dennis is survived by his daughter, Kristen Moore of Fulton and her family; brother, James David Berry and his wife Jane Marie of Tebbetts; and nephew, Darren Shane Berry. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Brother David Coleman officiating. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be in Steedman Cemetery at a later date.
