Claude Clinton McLain Jr., 80, of Fulton, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Claude was born on August 15, 1938 in Callaway County to the late Claude and Mary Fulton McLain Sr. He was married to Ramona Payne on October 23, 1958 in Fulton. Claude attended Baker School in Millersburg and then worked for many years as a Supervisor at Harbison Walker until his retirement. He then owned and operated Mid-MO Fence along with his son, John. He was a lifelong farmer in Callaway County and he took great pride in raising and taking care of all types of animals on his farm, including his mules and cattle. Claude was an amazing artist who enjoyed dancing, gardening, visiting and talking with his family and friends and attending family dinners and gatherings. Survivors include one son, John (Tammy) McLain of Fulton; six daughters, Terry Baker of Fulton, Debbie (Tom) Henage of Auxvasse, Lisa (Elvin) Lee of Fulton, Jacquelyn (Kevin) Davis of Fulton, Kathy (Tim) Lamons of Fulton and Tina (Randy) Sullens of Lake Wales, Florida; one sister, Bonnie (Charles) Akers of Steedman; 20 grandchildren, Michael Baker, Kelly Baker, Corey Holsman, Christopher Holsman, Rebekah Davis, Naomi Davis, Tammy Wolfmeier, Raymond Wolfmeier, James Weiser, Janice Burke, Malcolm Castilow, Talia Clark, Stephany Jackson, Jamie Shull, Aaron Lamons, Matthew Hirschinger, Anthony McLain, Ivy McLain, Kendra McLain and Jessica McLain; along with many great-grandchildren and his best friend, Don Glover. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Boydsville Cemetery near Millersburg, Missouri. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grabb Animal Shelter, in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, MO 65251.
