She was born February 21, 1926, in Unityville, South Dakota to the late Arnold and Amanda (Graese) Koepsell. On July 3, 1954, she was united in marriage for 55 years to William Carson Todd who preceded her in death. At the age of 17, Leila's adventurous spirit led her to Portland, Oregon to work as an electrician's assistant in the shipyards - her personal war effort during World War II. Leila had many other adventures that led her to Florida where she worked as a beautician and met her husband, William. The Todds' early life together included several moves due to job re-locations including South Dakota, Louisiana, Kansas, and Colorado, eventually leading them to Fulton, Missouri in 1958. She worked as a beautician and successfully operated Leila's Beauty Shop from 1967 through 2004. She was a fantastic cook, enjoyed dancing, fishing, Bingo, playing canasta, and loved her many faithful dogs through the years. She was a woman of strength and had a very strong faith.
