Juanita "Tootie" Edwards, an 89 year old resident of Trenton, Missouri passed away Saturday evening, January 5th at the Fulton Nursing and Rehab Center in Fulton, Missouri. Mrs. Edwards was born on March 26th, 1929 in Waterloo, Iowa to Rueben and Margaret Smith. She was married to Richard "Dick" Edwards on April 2nd, 1948 in Nashua, Iowa, at the Little Brown Church in the Wildwood. The family moved to Fulton and then Trenton, Missouri, where they owned and operated Coast to Coast stores. She also was employed as a flagger for her husband as he drove over the road trucks pulling Charlow and Marshfield mobile homes. Later she worked at Modine in Trenton as a security guard. Mrs. Edwards donated many hours over the years as a volunteer with the Red Cross blood drives, SERVE food pantry, and Trenton Hospital Auxiliary. She served as an election judge for many years. She was a member of the Trenton Garden Club and a fifty year member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Edwards is survived by 2 sons; Harry Edwards of Mokane, Missouri and Tom Edwards of Albany, Georgia; a brother in law Terry Edwards of Muscatine, Iowa; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 brothers and a sister. The body is to be cremated and per Mrs. Edwards request no services will be held. Memorial contributions have been suggested to be given to Honey Creek Methodist Church. These may be left or mailed to the RestHaven Mortuary at P.O.
