Donald LeRoy Anthony Jr., 59, passed away peacefully with a smile, Friday, March 29, 2019 at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, LLC in Jefferson City. He was born on August 8, 1960 in the arms of his parents Donald LeRoy Anthony Sr. and Donna Jean "D.J." (Avery) Anthony. Donald attended the God In Christ Holy Church with his siblings at a young age. Later years, he attended the Second Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. He did not attend church regularly, but he knew God. He would listen to KJLU Gospel Program on Sunday mornings and watched Joel Osteen to receive the message from the Lord. Survivors include: The love of his life, Carolyn, who he talked about all the time to family and friends. When the doctor/nurse asked him questions he said "ask my wife" she is my private secretary; one beloved son, Terrance Williams and grandson, Rashawn Williams, both of Columbia; his grandson who he loved dearly and assisted in raising, Markquann Lue, Kansas City; step-son, Mark Lue (Tysha) of Jefferson City; brother, Ken Brown, the last few months would take him riding after the "Young and Restless"; sister-in law, Barbara, who baked Swan' sweets; sister, Tonya Smith, second mother who wanted to be his boss; brother-in-law, Shalamar "Moe" enjoyed playing pool with Swan; two uncles, William Bentley (Jonnie Mae) of Columbia and Flynn Avery (Maureene) of Kansas City; brothers-in-law, Ron Templeton, Tommy Vaughn, and Horace Vaughn of Jefferson City and sister-in-law, Brenda Warren of Columbia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, Jerry White and Dennis "De De" Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; two sisters, Delisa Templeton and Debra Leigh Vaughn; sisters-in-law, Norma J. Kelly and Dollie Vaughn; and brothers-in-law, Harold Kelly and Charles P. Vaughn. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Interment will follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
