Minnie Marcella Hawk, 91, formerly of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. Marcella was born on October 7, 1926 in Steedman, Missouri to the late William and Gussie Matteson Garriott. She was married to Thomas Hawk on April 9, 1945. She was a 1944 graduate of Fulton High School and had owned Grandma's Restaurant before working as a cook at Callaway Hospital until her retirement. Marcella enjoyed reading and working on Sudoku puzzles but her greatest loves were spending time with her family and taking care of her animals. She is survived by three sons, William "Bill" Hawk of Edwardsville, Illinois; Lionel Hawk of Fulton; and Donald (Joan) Hawk of Edwardsville; one daughter, Connie (Gordon) Schwab of Edwardsville; six grandchildren, Lisa S. (Tom) Ruesch, Kristi L. (Tom) Real, William D. Hawk, Wendy A. Hawk, Donald C. Hawk and Kimberly Ross; along with 11 great-grandchildren, Austin Ruesch, Bailey Ruesch, Taylor Real, Connor Real, Mitchell Real, Joshua (Danielle) Hawk, Brittany Hawk, Spencer Ross, Zachary Ross, Abigail Ross and Harrison Ross. Marcella was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald Hawk; two brothers, Walter "Jack" Garriott and William "Dutch" Garriott; and two sisters, Mary Edwards and Nellie Polacek. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Portland, Missouri. The family will receive guests from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
