Carl Eugene Clingman, 82, of Mokane, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Harry S. Truman Veteran's Hospital, surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was born in Mokane on September 23, 1936, the son of the late Arvel Clingman and the late Lovenia (Koenig) Clingman. On June 9, 1960, Carl was united in marriage to Jo Anne (Taylor) Clingman. She survives his passing. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army. He co-owned Clingman and Glover Sinclair Service Station in Mokane for 17 years before becoming a pipefitter. Carl loved to fish, mushroom hunt and spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also treasured time spent with his brothers. Carl was a lifelong member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Mokane where he served as the bell ringer. Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years; daughters, Tamara Clardy (Scott) of Steedman, Stacy Leisinger (Tony) of Steedman, and Leslie Cross of Mokane; brothers, Jerry Clingman (Juanita) of Steedman, Arthur Clingman (Sandy) of Mokane; grandchildren, Rhiannon Clardy (Brad Rigdon), Lindsey Traub (Christoph), Garth Clardy, Kathryn Vandelicht (Ryan), Dylan Clardy, Greta Cross, and August Cross; and six great-grandsons. Along with his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Gordon. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Mokane with Father Joseph Abah officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Interment with Military Honors will be in Mokane Cemetery.
