Gary A. Nichols, 68, of Fulton, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born on November 8, 1949 in Fulton, the son of the late Russell Gillette and the late Rosie (Nichols) Gillette. Gary went to George Washington Carver School and graduated from Fulton Public Schools in 1967. He attended Lincoln University for one year. He worked at a daycare for several years doing janitorial work before going to work at Robinson Dining Hall at Westminster College as a chef where he remained for several years until retirement. He loved fishing, cooking, listening to music, sitting on the porch watching pretty girls go by, and hanging with family and friends. Gary attended Second Christian Church in Fulton. Survivors include sons, Joshua Vaughn of St. Louis and Cortez Cave of Fulton; siblings, Teresa Nichols of Columbia, Rosanna Smith (Michael), Larry Gillette (Vanessa), Deianna Gillette, Carla Berry (Lee), Ronnie Gillette (Kay), Pamela Gillette, all of Fulton; Carl Gillette (Rosie) of Anchorage, Alaska, Connie Crowley of St. Louis, and Debbie Harris (Charles) of Memphis, Tenn. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Victory Fellowship Church with Reverend Cedric Harris officiating.
