Robert Earl Shockley Sr.

Robert Earl Shockley Sr., 75, of Auxvasse, passed away at Boone Hospital on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. He was born in Seymour, Texas on July 13, 1942, the son of the late Oscar Harold Shockley and the late Dorothy Earline (Machen). On January 26, 1962, Robert was united in marriage to Linda (Pruitt) Shockley. She survives his passing. Robert retired from the Dollar General Warehouse in 2004, where he worked as a supervisor. He was a member of Auxvasse Presbyterian Church. He was an active member of his community and had served on City Council. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and farming. He also enjoyed going to auctions and collecting various things. Robert considered his family his greatest accomplishment and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years; sons, Robert Earl Shockley Jr. (Connie) of Lubbock, Texas, and Charles Lee Shockley (Lori) of Lawson, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; aunt, Betty Sue Patterson; and several cousins. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Elwanda Jean Breeding. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Auxvasse Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jim Graham officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
