Willard Glover Jr.

Willard Glover Jr., 90, of Fulton, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. Willard was born June 20, 1927, in Callaway County, Missouri, the son of Willard and Maggie Brown Glover Sr. Willard attended Boydsville Grade School and Lincoln University Lab High School. Willard served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, and received two bronze service stars. Willard married Jessie Murrell on April 18, 1954, in Fulton, and they had five children. Willard worked at the Missouri School for the Deaf in Fulton, Parker's Appliance in Columbia, and owned his own business - Willard Appliance Service. Willard was also a prominent community leader and served as a City Council Member in Fulton, and was a member of the Paris Fork United Methodist Church, Optimist Club, and Prince Hall Masons. Willard leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Jessie Glover of Fulton, and five children: Jacqueline Watts of Raytown; Willard H. Glover of Bloomington, Illinois; Juanita Washington of Columbia; Janet (Henry) Logan of Phoenix, Arizona; Joyce Glover of Raytown; one brother, Donald Glover of Fulton; one sister, Leona Hamilton of Kansas City; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Nelson, James, Wendall, Wilbur, Russell; and two sisters, Allene Logan and Maureen Smith. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Court Street United Methodist Church in Fulton, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
