Myrta Gayle Wade

Myrta Gayle Wade, age 73, of Mexico, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia following a long illness. Myrta was born on December 29, 1944 at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico to George and Maxine Blackmore. She graduated from Mexico High School in 1962 and continued her education at Northeast Missouri State earning an associate bachelor's degree in business. She married Ralph Wade of New Bloomfield at the First Baptist Church in Mexico in June 1967. From this union two children were born, Parish Parnell and Stephanie Lynn. Myrta worked at the Fulton State Hospital admissions office, then transferred over to the D.F.S office for the State of Missouri, traveling all over the state and retired after 27 years. While working full time, she continued her education, receiving her Real Estate Salesman license and joining her parents at Blackmore Realty. She then transferred to the sales team of Coldwell Banker, gaining many new friendships and enjoying the comradery of her associates. Myrta enjoyed her flowers, feeding the birds, traveling, slots and cards, was an avid collector of Hallmark Ornaments and Beanie Babies and enjoyed bingo. She loved to shop and was always looking for a bargain whether at garage/estate sales or in the stores. She taxied family members to medical appointments and lived most of her life in Auxvasse until moving to Mexico to care for her parents in their later years. She leaves behind son, Parish (Loretta) Wade of Aurora, Colo.; daughter, Stephanie (Willie) Ferrell of Centralia, Mo.; grandsons, Ryan Blair of Mexico and Alex Whisler of Joplin, Mo.; her sister, Susie (Jim) Nelson and nephew, Jacob, all of House Springs, Mo. Myrta was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David and Wayne; two granddaughters, Taryn and Abigail Wade; and good friend, Bob Knipp. Myrta was an amazing, fun loving but soft-spoken mom, grandma, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and friend. She will be lovingly missed and remembered forever. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 18, at Arnold Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Pike officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
