J. Curtis "Curt" Yancey, age 89, of New Bloomfield, Missouri, passed away, Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Fulton Presbyterian Manor. He was born March 2, 1929, in Guthrie, Missouri, a son of Samuel Chester Yancey and Alpha Omega Brown Yancey. He was married June 5, 1949, to Betty Fern Priest. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2001. Curt served in the U.S. Army with the Military Police in occupied Germany. Curt retired from the Callaway Bank where he served for more than 50 years as Executive Vice President and on the Board of Directors. He served one term as Callaway County Circuit Clerk and was a long time member of the Dry Fork Baptist Church in Guthrie. He is survived by his son, James Robert (Dawn) Yancey of Fulton; two grandchildren, Scott (Erin) Yancey of Omaha, Nebraska, and Claire Yancey of San Francisco, California; four sisters, Helen Replogle of Fresno, California, Geraldine Fromme, Ruth Keown, and Mary Lou Patterson all of Jefferson City, Missouri, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen "Kate" Yancey Barrow; two brothers, Brown Yancey and William Yancey; three sisters, Carmen Kolb, Jeannie Hachadourian, and Polly Dinning. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, June 14th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Interment will be at the Dry Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.
