Maurine Bollinger Crosby, age 90, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018, in Sacramento California due to Hypertensive Cardiac Disease. She was born on March 6, 1928, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to Helen and Hobart Bollinger. As a young child, she moved with her mother to Fulton, Missouri. In 1946 she was Salutatorian of the graduating class from Fulton High School. Maurine was a third generation graduate of William Woods College with an AA in Fine Arts. She met and married her husband, Donald P. "Pat" Crosby, a ceramic engineer, in Fulton in 1954. She and Pat would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on June 6, 2018. Together they had two children: David Allen Crosby (Vikki) and Susan Crosby Partington (Mike). In 1959, Pat was transferred to Jackson, California. During this time, Maurine was busy raising her children and worked at Amador Hospital. In 1964, Pat was transferred to Pittsburgh, Pa. While living in Pittsburgh, Maurine was involved with the Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church and was a medical assistant for Dr. Stanford Isaacson. Longing to return to California, Pat accepted a job with Interpace Corporation and moved the family to Sutter Creek, Calif. in 1972. Upon her return to Amador County, she became involved with the Republican Central Committee. This involvement resulted in an appointment by Governor Ronald Reagan to the California Youth Authority Board where she served two terms. In 1974, she and Pat began running Lizzie Ann's Antiques and Gifts. In the early 80's they opened The Bubblegum Book Store and ran both businesses until 2016. Maurine was a lifetime honorary member and Historian of the Jackson Rotary Club. She also wrote the Rotary Bulletin and District Newsletters for years. She was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award, one of the highest awards a Rotarian can receive. Maurine is survived by her husband, Pat; her children, Dave and Sue; grandchildren, Brian, Kale, Alani, Ian, Lindsey and Layne; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on June 16, 2018, at Creekside United Methodist Church, 14 Main Street, Sutter Creek, CA at 10:30 a.m. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Sutter Creek Community Center, 33 Church Street, Sutter Creek, CA. Internment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jackson Rotary Foundation, P.O. Box 1117, Jackson, CA 95642 or the Creekside United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 983, Sutter Creek, CA 95685. Pat will be present at the service and Celebration of Life for those who wish to extend condolences. Cards may be sent to 1071 Fulton Avenue #115 Sacramento CA 95825. Due to the current construction in Sutter Creek, carpooling is recommended. The family would like to thank the staffs at The Chateau at Riverside, Woodside Skilled Nursing, The Carlton Enhanced Assisted Living, and Suncrest Hospice for the care they provided to our mother/wife and their support during this difficult time.
