Billie Bussard, 73, of Fulton, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at his home at Brady Independent Living in the presence of his friends and adopted family. Billie Gene Bussard was born on August 16, 1944. in Springfield Mo. to Alan Lewis and Katherine Bussard. Everyone loved Billie. While we are saddened by his death, we welcome the end of his suffering from cancer. We know Billie is in heaven - fishing, eating, and probably asking for a dollar at the Pearly Gates. Please give it to him. Billie was born deaf and non-verbal but anyone can tell you he could and would clearly communicate his wants and needs using his own version of sign language. Billie loved fishing, McDonald's, brightly colored trinkets, watches, and hats. He liked taking pictures of everyone and displaying them. The staff of Brady Independent Living spoiled him any way they could and received many blessings back from him. They will always remember him with love. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 24, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with services immediately following. Reverend Melvin McCaleb of Second Christian Church will conduct the service. A Balloon Memorial Release and repast dinner will be served at Brady Apartments, 606 W. Chestnut after the service. Please join us as we say goodbye to Billie. Feel free to wear bright colors as he loved his bling! Donations will be used to sponsor a dinner in his honor on Tuesday, July 31, from 3-6 p.m. at the John C Harris Community Center in Fulton. "I am different but not less." --Temple Grandin Condolences may be left for the family at www.maupinfuneralhome.com.
