Elmer Gene Coffelt, 80, of Fulton, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018, at Fulton Nursing and Rehab. He was born in Hams Prairie on September 7, 1937, the son of the late Charles Coffelt and the late Ruth (Landers) Raps. On December 2, 1958, Gene was united in marriage to Ethel Mae (Summers) Coffelt. She preceded him in death on August 5, 2012. Gene worked at Stride Rite, managed the Imperial Gas Station, and retired from Production Products. He enjoyed listening to and playing bluegrass music. He was a gifted mechanic and could fix any kind of small engine. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and coin collecting. Gene's memory will be forever cherished by two sons, Steve Coffelt (Brenda Clements) of Jefferson City, and Joe Coffelt (Brandy) of Fulton; two daughters, Becky Summers (Clint O'Neal) of Steedman, and Mary Robinson (Daniel) of Fulton; brother, Harold Coffelt (Pat) of Fulton; grandchildren, Brandon Adams, Steven Coffelt, Brandi Robinson, Morgan Robinson (Logan), April Purvis (Brandon), Olivia Coffelt, and Joshua Muse; and great-grandchildren, Aria, Lyrek, TaLiyah, and Promise. Along with his wife and parents, Gene was preceded in death by infant sons, Charles Dean and Gerald Keith; brother, Eddie Coffelt; and great-grandson, Peyton Coffelt.
