Shirley Mae Hodges, 78, of New Bloomfield, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at her home. Shirley was born on April 19, 1939 in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Jess and Flossie (Lairmore) Smith, who preceded her in death. She was married on October 2, 1954 in Jefferson City, Mo. to Richard Lee Hodges, who preceded her in death January 5, 2009. She retired from the Shoe Factory in Jefferson City and was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Shirley loved her family and friends. She enjoyed canning, gardening, going on cruises and traveling. She was a very sociable person and never met a stranger. Shirley is survived by four sons, Glen Hodges (Gloria), Steven Hodges, Dennis Hodges (Renee) and Garry Hodges; one daughter, Debora Thompson (Bruce); one daughter-in-law, Shirley Hodges; two sisters, Harriett Bryan (Red) and Joyce Loveall (Jerry); 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Larry Hodges and Leonard Hodges; one grandson, Dustin Brandt; two great-grandchildren, Levi Stewart and Amber Hodges; two sisters, Patsy Reed and Mary Clarkston; and two brothers, Paul Smith and Frank Smith. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit, Missouri. Burial will be in New Bloomfield Cemetery in New Bloomfield, Mo. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Church-Building Fund, in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, MO 65251.
