William Thomas Forbis, 84, of Williamsburg, Missouri passed away on January 26, 2018, at Fulton Manor in Fulton, Missouri. William was born June 14, 1933, in Jefferson City, Missouri to Everet and Ada Bell Nichols Forbis who preceded him in death. He was married on November 27, 1957, in Jefferson City to Josie Batye. William served his country in the United States Navy and had worked in the Maintenance Department at the University of Missouri in Columbia for 28 years until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the United Church of God in Fulton and a Lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Survivors include his wife of over 60 years, Josie of Williamsburg; daughter, Janet (Gary) Neuhaus of St. Louis, Missouri; son, David Forbis of Yazoo City, Mississippi; grandson, Joseph Ball of St. Louis; two great-grandchildren; niece, Judith (John) Stanford of Osage Beach, Missouri; great-niece, Lesley Susan and four great-great-nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Elsworth Forbis. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus or Fulton Manor, both in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, Missouri 65251.
