Betty Jean Benson

Betty Jean Benson, 87, of Fulton, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Fulton Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Portland, Mo. on December 27, 1930, the daughter of the late Arthur Vandelicht, the late Eva (Laube) Van Booven and her step-father the late Theodore Van Booven. Betty was married to Charles L. Benson on June 24, 1960, he survives at their home. Betty retired from the Fulton State Hospital after 20 plus years. Most of all Betty cherished the time she spent with her husband of 57 years and her family. She will be missed by her husband Charles; daughter, Lisa L. Wilson (Steven) of Lompoc, Calif.; step-son, Terry L. Benson (Peggy) of Freeburg; grandchildren, Amanda Wilson, Heather Baltzell, Jennifer Haller, Emily Weber and Terry Benson Jr.; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Vaughn (Dale) of Fulton. Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Archalee "Sonny" Vandelicht. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at the Callaway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating.
