Katheryn Jo Mooney

Katheryn Jo Mooney, 77, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Missouri. Katheryn was born January 3, 1940 in Fredonia, Kansas to Thomas and Catherine Lux Jansen, who preceded her in death. She was married to James Mooney on December 25, 1982 in Licking, Missouri and he preceded her in death. She was a waitress for 10 years at Gasper's Truck Stop in Kingdom City and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fulton. Katheryn enjoyed going to garage sales and reading. She loved to be with her family and she cherished the friendships she made with the residents and staff at South Hampton Place in Columbia while she lived there. She is survived by one daughter, Catherine (Louis) Shirley of Auxvasse, Missouri; three sons, Leonard (Sharon) Jansen of Kingdom City, Jim Jansen of Charlottesville, Virginia and Charles (Lisa) Miller of Fulton; 14 grandchildren, Rianna Jansen, Layna Jansen, Jenna Jansen, J.R. Jansen, Courtney Jansen, Joshua Jansen, Chad Jansen, Brian Shirley, Brandon Shirley, Robert Shirley, James Shirley, Kaitlyn Miller, Isabella Miller and Serena Walker; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, and one grandson, Michael James Shirley. Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton.
