Jalie D. Boulware, 89, of Auxvasse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Fulton Manor. She was born on March 26, 1929 in Fulton, the daughter of the late Howard Davis and the late Arabella (Nickelson) Davis. Jalie was united in marriage to Woodrow Boulware on April 23, 1950. He survives her passing. Jalie grew up in Stephens, Missouri, just north of the Millersburg exit, and her family moved to the Hatton community when she was 12 years old. She lived on the family farm just northwest of Hatton for most of her school years. She attended a one-room school near her home through 8th grade and then bussed to Fulton High School where she graduated as co-valedictorian in 1947. She graduated from William Woods College and began teaching at a one-room school for a one year prior, and for a short time after marrying Woodrow. After taking time off to raise Mike and Don, Jalie returned to teaching 8th grade for one year in Auxvasse, and then 5th grade for several years in Fulton. She returned to college in the late 60s and was awarded her Master's degree in Counseling. She became an Elementary Counselor for Fulton Public Schools where she remained until her retirement in 1987. Jalie loved to cook, sew, garden, and take care of her home. She was the perfect farmer's wife to Woodrow on the homestead farm where they lived from 1950 until moving to Fulton Presbyterian Manor. Jalie loved to write and penned numerous booklets about family and various events. She was the Hatton News columnist for three newspapers: The Fulton Sun, Mexico Ledger, and Centralia Fireside Guard. She loved her local community dearly, and was active in the Hatton Community Club, Pleasant Grove Church and numerous community events. Above all, she loved her family and was the perfect wife, mother, and grandmother to all her loved ones. Jalie was a servant leader in her community and for her family her entire life. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her. Those remaining to cherish Jalie's memory include her husband, Woodrow, of 68 years; sons, Mike Boulware (Brenda) of Hatton, and Don Boulware (Anna) of Moscow Mills; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Fike) Davis of Troy, and Verna (Boulware) Shryock of Columbia; grandchildren, Jody Miller (Cory), Stephen Boulware (Rachel), Troy Boulware (Christy), Danielle Boulware, Alexandra Boulware, and Tyler Boulware; great-grandchildren, Corynne and Cade Miller, and Peyton, Blake, Reese, Nolan, Landon, and Lila Boulware; nephews, Denny and Joe Shryock; and nieces, Kelly (Davis) Williams, and Kristen (Davis) Smith.
