Carl "Jack" Franklin Powell

Carl "Jack" Franklin Powell, 92, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Fulton Nursing & Rehab. Jack was born on August 2, 1925 in Steedman to Albert and Blanche Hopsecker Powell, who preceded him in death. He was married to the late Lucile Vestal on January 21, 1961 at the courthouse in New London, Missouri. He attended Cotton Rock School in Callaway County and then drove a truck for several area trucking companies including, Clyde Holland, Ralph Dawson and Elton Hensley. He then worked for Merten Construction for 16 years. Jack was a real lover of antiques, particularly old cars and old tractors. He was an avid gardener and in his later years, he began to restore vintage bicycles. Jack is survived by one sister, Alberta M. Bradley of Fulton; two nephews, Albert Powell and Wendall Powell; along with 12 nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Paul Powell. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Debo Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Steedman Cemetery immediately following the service.
