Ernest Charles Shackelford

Ernest Charles Shackelford, 93, of Holts Summit, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at his home. He was born on December 10, 1924 in Dixon, Missouri, the son of the late Vernon Shackelford and the late Myrtle Minnie (Hand) Groger. On April 14, 1951, Ernest was united in marriage to Myrtle Kathryn (Yount) Shackelford. She preceded him in death on August 26, 2013. Ernest retired from Westinghouse. He enjoyed fishing, watching TV and spending time with family and friends. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons, Thomas Shackelford and his wife Shirley of Mokane, and Jack Shackelford of Holts Summit; one daughter, Janet Frazier and husband Ray Sr. of Mokane; seven grandchildren, Lori Lamons (Danny) of Mokane, Thomas Shackelford Jr. (Glenda) of Fulton, Ray Frazier Jr. (Patty) of Maine, Dan Frazier (DeRonda) of Tebbetts, and Ed Frazier (Victoria) of Fulton, Robin Leslie (Crystal) of Ill., Kathryn Shackelford of Ill.; 22 great-grandchildren, Heather (Tyler), Shawn (Katie), Dakota, Jessica (Matt), Danielle (Chris), Tabatha (Justin), Deserae (Thomas), Melissa (Dan), Justin (Marcy), Logan (Morgan), Hayley (Chris), Kim, Noah and Katie (Donnie), Olivia, David, Leno, Trevor, Tiffany, Eddie, Ashley, and Ryan; 22 great-great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emerson, Ryder, Wyatt, Bentley, Nevaeh, Alex, Alyssia, Addison, Lukas, Alexis, Kinslee, Gavin, Lillie, Aron, Brantley, Alyana, Shawn, Estela, Emilliano, Angelica, and Alex; and several nieces and nephews. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons, Eddie Allen Shackelford and Ernest Charles Shackelford Jr.; brother, Webb Shackelford; and sister, Bertha Hatcher. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Jim Steele officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mokane Cemetery.
