Otis "Dale" Vaughn

Otis "Dale" Vaughn, 90, of Fulton, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Missouri Veteran's Home in Mexico. He was born in Callaway County on August 6, 1927, the son of the late William B. Vaughn and the late Julia (Kemp) Vaughn. On June 3, 1949, Dale married Bonnie (Vandelicht) Vaughn, who survives his passing. Dale proudly served his country in the United States Army and the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. For 12 years, Dale and his brother, Deward, owned Vaughn Brothers Garage. Dale retired in 1998 after working as the Service Manager for Jameson Ford and later Keen Ford. Dale was a member of Central Christian Church and a lifetime member of VFW Post 2657. Dale and Bonnie enjoyed traveling together and made many trips to Navy Reunions as well as trips outside the United States. Dale is survived by his wife of 68 years; daughter, Sandra Kelley and her husband Pat of Fulton; and grandsons, David Kelley of St. Maarten (Island), and Jordan Kelley of Clarksville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rhonda Vaughn; brothers, Deward, Dean, and Doyle Vaughn; and sisters, Margaret Gowin, Mossie Payne, and Mary Branch. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Bill Nigus officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
