Wallace Lee Payne, 66, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2015, at University Hospital in Columbia. He was born June 26, 1951, in Fulton to Edgar W. Payne and Gladys Gertrude (Bosch) Payne who preceded him in death. Wallace was a member of the Court Street United Methodist Church in Fulton where he enjoyed serving as an Usher and visiting with the Pastor and other church members. He was also an avid member of the Lions Club. He first joined the Millersburg Lions Club in 1981. He then moved to the Bridgeton Lions Club in 1994 before moving back to Fulton Lions Club in 2008. Wallace received the Melvin Jones Humanitarian Fellowship Award which is the highest award in the Lions Club. He also held many positions in the Lions Club including District L Bomb Committee, Zone Chairman for Regional Chairman, recycled eyeglasses and District eye wrap, Missouri Eye Research Foundation and State Committee after serving for over 10 years. He also participated in flood relief in 1993 and with opening State of Missouri Rest Areas with vending machines. Remaining to grieve his passing is his sister, Linda (Bobby) Mealy and brother Ray Payne. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Inurnment will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton. The family will receive guests from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fulton Lions Club or Court Street United Methodist Church both in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, Missouri 65251.
