Sharon Kay Gliser, 72, of Montgomery City, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018, following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 22, 1945, in St. Louis, the fourth child of the late Marvin McKinney and the late Virginia (Smith) McKinney. Sharon was a gifted cook and hostess. She shared her talents at her restaurants in the central Missouri area including Miss Kitty's in Wellsville and the Red Barn in Montgomery City. Sharon was a woman of unrelenting determination. Through many trials and tribulations in her life, she persevered like a true warrior. Even through her final illness, she fought until the end, never losing her spirit. Sharon loved to read, travel and spend time with her family. She loved her boys unconditionally, seeing the best in them as only a mother could. Her grandson, Richard, was the light of her life. She treasured every moment spent with him whether at a family dinner, fishing, watching him play sports, or traveling with him. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband, Tom Gliser of Montgomery City; children, Donald Dillon of Steedman, Joe Dillon (Lori) of Portland, Cheri Smith (Shannon) of Montgomery City, Mo. and Thomas William Gliser (Kelly) of Belle, Mo.; grandchildren, Chelsea Dillon of Mexico and Richard Dillon (Amy) of Portland; great-grandson, Layne Archer Dillon; brothers, Marvin "Spunk" McKinney Jr. (Ellen), Walter "Fred" McKinney (Sandy), Michael McKinney (Sherry); sister-in-law, Loni McKinney; and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Tom and Fred McKinney; sisters, Judy Sturdevant, Shelby Jean McKinney and Virginia Craig; and granddaughter, Miranda Jean Dillon. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Schlanker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Mo.
