Sylvia "Darlene" Lander, 80, of Fulton, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017, at Fulton Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Callaway County on March 23, 1937, the daughter of the late Kurtz and Alta (Adams) Frey. Darlene was united in marriage to Harold R. (Bob) Lander on May 13, 1953. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1996. Darlene loved to travel and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Her favorite past-time was spending time with her family and friends. Darlene will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her son, Tony Lander (Frankie) of Fulton; daughter, Java Harrison (Terry) of Fulton, and Tia Winingear of Fulton; grandchildren, Robbie Harrison (Courtney), Candi Wood (Jason), Katie Warden, Larry Cottom (Connie), and Lori Fennewald, all of Fulton, Debbie Stout (Robert) of Columbia, and Sue Johnson (Gerald) of Centralia; 15 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Darlene is also survived by her special friend, Russell Brewer. Along with her parents and husband, Darlene was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Winingear; and grandson, Donnie Winingear. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastors Mike Crowson and David Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations are suggested to Side Out Foundation, a cause benefiting breast cancer, the Fulton High School volleyball team will be supporting at their game on October 5, 2017.
