Fay Blacklock Vargas, age 89, of Fulton, was at peace when called by her Savior on Saturday, May 27, 2017, while at her home with her daughter, Paula Kent, of the home. Fay was born in Millersburg, Missouri on August 16, 1927, the daughter of Troy Sumner and Pauline Adamson Blacklock with whom she most looked forward to being reunited. Fay attended Fulton High School while working after classes to help out at home. She continued working all of her adult life but the position of which she was the proudest was as Voter Registration Clerk for Callaway County. Her winning smile and strong work ethic helped develop lasting friendships throughout Fulton, Callaway County, and statewide. Fay remembered every friend's birthday or special occasion with a phone call, greeting card, or one of her glorious pies. No one was shy about letting her know their favorite flavor! Fay will be missed by so many for her unending acts of kindness. She is survived by her brother, Jim Blacklock, his wife Niki (Windsor), and their children Kelly, Kerry Ecton, and Kurt of Montgomery County. She is also sorrowfully missed by her sons, Dan and his wife Michele, their son Michael, as well as John and his wife Melissa, their sons Andrew and Samuel. As per Fay's wishes, in lieu of flowers she would deeply appreciate any donations made to honor her be made in care of Mrs. Lynne Engel, Principal Bush Elementary School 908 Wood Street, Fulton, MO 65251. These donations will be designated for the purchase of books for the school library as reading and the importance of it for children was a lifelong cause for Fay. We extend our gratitude to each of you for your love and kindnesses over these many years. There will be a private graveside service for the family and close friends at a later date.
