Evelyn "Peaches" Nelson-Robb, age 88, peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Fulton Nursing and Rehab in Fulton, while surrounded by her family and listening to gospel music She was born on September 14, 1928 in Portland, Missouri to the late James and Flay Hamilton Niblack. On June 1, 1947 she was united in marriage to Fred Eugene Nelson. He preceded her in death in 1989. She then married Wilford Robb on February 26, 1993 and he preceded her in death in 2006. Peaches was a 1947 graduate of Fulton High School. During her high school years she worked at Saults Drug Store in Fulton and later at Callaway Community Hospital. In 1962, Evelyn began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She retired in 1986 at the Eldon office as a Maintenance Supervisor. Evelyn was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church in Fulton and later became a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was devoted and faithful to her churches and held many responsibilities at each of them. Peaches was an excellent cook, wonderful seamstress and avid gardener. She will be most remembered as a loving Christian mother. She is survived by sons, Allen (Nancy) Nelson of Fulton, Randy (Gretchen) Nelson of Fulton and David (Wantha) Nelson of Auxvasse; daughters, Virginia Duffie of Fulton, Nancy (Kenny Hutchens) Carr of Camdenton, Janet (Dale) Tate of Fulton and Becky Nelson of O'Fallon, Illinois; 18 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 20 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members. She was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, one granddaughter and one step-grandson. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Walter Lockhart and Pastor Bruce Williamson at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice, both in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, MO 65251.
