Margaret Louise Hampton

Margaret Louise Hampton, 79, of Williamsburg, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017, at Boone Hospital Center. She was born on December 1, 1937, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late William Christopher Hartman and Margaret (Selman) Hartman. On March 1, 1958, Margaret was united in marriage to Leroy Hampton. He survives her passing. Margaret was of the Lutheran faith. She worked at B & B Bookkeeping in St. Louis. Margaret enjoyed fishing and gardening. During her retirement, her passion was reading. Margaret's first priority was always taking care of her family, especially her husband. Being surrounded by her loved ones brought her great joy. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband of 59 years; son, William Charles Hampton (Amy) of Williamsburg; daughters, Mary Carol Bell (Jim) of Doe Run, Dorothy Lee Watson of Carrollton, Linda Marie Hampton of Liberty, and Sherry Ann Brock of Columbia; 16 grandchildren, including Alison Marie Hampton and Andrew Julian William Gwinn; and numerous great- grandchildren. Along with her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by son, Keith Jon Hampton; and brother, William Christopher Hartman Jr. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Maupin Funeral home in Fulton with Revered David L. Mueller officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
