Madeline Josephine Hoover

Madeline Josephine Hoover, 89, of Fulton, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics. She was born on July 15, 1927 in Jonesburg, Missouri, the daughter of the late Richard W. Cuno and the late Orlenia (Chaney) Cuno. Madeline was united in marriage to James H. Hoover on November 27, 1944. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1978. Madeline retired from Fulton State Hospital where she worked in the Dietary Department. She enjoyed bowling, playing 10 point pitch, flowers, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. During her two year stay at Fulton Manor, she loved participating in activities and won their pig calling contest just days before her illness. Family was always first and foremost for Madeline. Those remaining to mourn her passing include daughters, Patsy Dysart of Fulton, Janice Payne (Leonard) of Fulton, and Lynn Quick (Larry) of Auxvasse; grandchildren, Tina Lee (Brian), Lori Welch (Keith), Kevin Dysart (Nikki), Steve Payne (Michelle), Laura Nelson (Willie), Rikka Brown, and Cory Quick (Amy); seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Madeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Buddy, Freddie and Willie Cuno; two infant brothers; and sisters, Marie Jaspering, Annie Hoelscher, and Ada Long. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
