Larry Leopold, 79, of Auxvasse, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Delta Gamma Lodge in Wellsville, Missouri. He was born on August 14, 1937, in Mexico, Missouri, the son of the late Elmer Leopold and the late Nettie (Gotchal) Leopold. Larry was united in marriage to Carol Sue "Susie" (McDermit) Leopold on May 31, 1959. She survives his passing. Larry was very active in the lives of his sons, never missing their sporting events. Following their graduation, he continued to follow North Callaway Sports. He enjoyed working in his yard but found great pleasure in simply spending time with his grandchildren. Larry lived his entire life in Auxvasse. He spent the majority of his working career with Kaiser National, retiring after 47 years of service. He also farmed with his uncles for numerous years and held multiple jobs in the Auxvasse area. Larry was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Auxvasse. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Susie Leopold of Auxvasse; sons, Larry Leopold (Kim) of Wichita, Kan., and Gary Leopold (Mary) of Mt. Vernon, Iowa.; brother, Jerry Leopold of Auxvasse; sister, Mary Rose Mock of Mexico; grandchildren, Andrew Leopold (Jamie), Caitlin Knaup (Courtney), Tanner Leopold, Matthew Leopold, Benjamin Leopold, Jacob Leopold, Nicholas Leopold, and Annie Leopold; and great-grandchildren, Sienna and Emmett Leopold. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday May 28, 2017, at Auxvasse Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jim Graham officiating.
