Amelia E. Karcher

Amelia E. Karcher, 66, of Fulton, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Fulton Medical Center. She was born in Durham, North Carolina on June 3, 1950, the daughter of the late Coy Horner and the late Betty (Coursey) Clarke. Amelia was united in marriage to Garry Karcher on September 2, 1967. He survives her passing. Amelia loved holidays and made every occasion special for her family. She was an excellent cook and gardener. She enjoyed working with dried flowers and making her own arrangements. Watching hummingbirds and telling stories of her childhood made her very happy. Amelia was an avid watcher of Days of Our Lives and never missed an episode. More than anything, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Those remaining to cherish her memory include husband, Garry of the home; daughters, Paula Warwick (Chris) of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Denise Handlon (Michael) of Fulton, and Catherine Harrison (Matthew) of Fulton; brothers, Roger Dale Horner of Sacramento, Calif., and Darryl Horner of Ellicon City, Md.; sisters, Dorothea Oster of Langley, British Columbia, Daneen MacDonald of Agassiz, British Columbia, and Becky Horner; mother and father-in-law, Betty and Bryce Karcher; and grandchildren, Christopher Warwick, Cheyenne Warwick, Timothy Handlon, and Elizabeth Handlon. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, William and Coy Allen Horner. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Mr. John Neudecker officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
