Curtis Dean Whitaker

Curtis Dean Whitaker, 55, of Portland, Oregon, passed away June 8, 2017, at his home. Mr. Whitaker was born in Columbia, Missouri on November 1, 1961. He was a 1980 graduate of North Callaway High School, and a 1983 graduate of the Missouri Institute of Technology in Kansas City, Mo. He held a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Curtis spent his adult working life as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for KLA-Tencor in San Jose, California, and retired in 2015 to his home in Portland, Ore. Curtis was preceded in death by his wife Nina, and his parents H. Wayne Whitaker and Catherine Whitaker of Columbia, Mo. Survivors include his brothers David Love (Jeanne) of Wildwood, Mo., Robert Whitaker (Cathleen) of Fulton, Mo., and Steven Whitaker of North Canton, Ohio. Services will be held at Hamilton's Altoona Funeral Home at 105 Fourth Street SW in Altoona, Iowa on Saturday, June 24. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with funeral services and celebration of life immediately after visitation.
