Treva Mae (Maddox) Vandeloecht, 82, of Fulton, was called home to her Lord on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Born in Callaway County on May 8, 1935, Treva was the daughter of the late Fay Moore Maddox and the late Winnie Lee (Harvey) Maddox. On July 25, 1953, Treva was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Vandeloecht. Treva retired from Bank Star One in 2008 after 28 years of service. Prior to her employment with Bank Star One, Treva worked in the offices of Drs. James Hill and George Groce for 17 years. Treva was Community Leader with 4-H and supported Boy Scouts when her son Eric was involved. She had been an active member of Central Christian Church for more than 60 years. When their children were at home, Treva and Bob lead ChiRho, the church youth group. She was the first woman Board Chair for the church, a member of Christian Women's Fellowship, and served in countless other aspects. Along with her siblings, Treva was a member of the Kingdomaire Band and the Maddox Trio. Treva was instrumental in the implementation of the Eric D. Vandeloecht Memorial Scholarships offered annually on behalf of her son through Fulton High School and the University of Missouri Columbia. A civic minded person, Treva was always on the go and participated in many organizations including Fulton State Hospital Foundation, Kingdom of Callaway Historical Society, Friends of the Library Board, Fulton Colleges Board of Associates, New Bloomfield Civic Association, American Business Women's Association, and Ronald McDonald House Friends for Kids. Always a stellar example for women in the work place, Treva was a mentor to many. She was honored with the Athena Award in 2000 for displaying excellence in her career and encouraging women to meet their full potential. Treva was active with the Kingdom of Callaway Chamber of Commerce where she served in many aspects including Chamber Ambassador, various board positions, numerous committees, and Women's Network Member. She was recognized by the Chamber membership for her commitment to the community in 2014 when she received the J. H. Atkinson Award. Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband of 63 years; daughter, Joneta Dudley (Dennis) of Columbia; brothers, Jack Maddox of New Bloomfield and Elton "Corkie" Maddox (Bonnie) of Fulton; sister, Juanita Bura (Dave) of Fulton; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. Along with her parents, Treva was preceded in death by son, Eric Vandeloecht; sisters, Ruth Edwards and Betty Nichols; brothers-in-law, Fred Edwards and B.J. Nichols; and sister-in-law, Eva Mae Maddox. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Bill Nigus officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
