Ruby Elizabeth Wheat

Ruby Elizabeth Wheat, age 93, died Monday, May 29, 2017 at Fulton Manor in Fulton. She was born November 22, 1923 in Williamsburg, Missouri to Frank Lee and Cordie Bently Gowin. Ruby married William LeRoy "Roy" Wheat on July 27, 1946 in Fulton. Ruby loved to piece quilt tops and taught the art of piecing quilt tops and making jam and jelly, which she shared with all of her friends and family. She is survived by one daughter, Leona (Dennis) Whyte of Fulton; one son, Tony Ray Wheat of Fulton; grandchildren, Angela (Kevin) Pederson of Joplin, Todd (Stephanie) Whyte of Fulton, Terry (Tammy) Wheat of New Bloomfield, Jessica (Kevin) Bronson of Sedalia, Bryan (Kathy) Wheat of Fulton; 12 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; sister, Daisy Perry of Fulton; brother, Roy Gowin of Wisconsin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years; parents; eight brothers; one sister; and one great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton. The family will receive guests from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, Missouri in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, MO 65251.
