Ralph D. Stephens, age 82, of Bolivar (previously of Humansville), passed away on July 6, 2017, after 12 weeks battling complications following surgery, in Springfield, Missouri. His wife Loretta was at his side. Ralph was born on April 9, 1935, at Mexico, Missouri, the oldest of five children born to Wilfred R. and Helen Ann Daschke Stephens. He married Loretta Mitchell of Burlington, Iowa on May 25, 1958. To this union was born two children, daughter Venetia and son Brian. Ralph graduated from Fulton, Missouri High School in 1953. He served in the Army from 1958 to 1961. He was employed in sales and service of orchard and vineyard equipment. After retiring he worked five years at Woods Supermarket in Bolivar as a carry out. Ralph was a member of the Bolivar Christian Church (formerly a member of the Collins Christian Church). He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charles and Bill. He is survived by his wife, Loretta; daughter, Venetia (Dee) Blodgett of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; and son, Brian (Debbie) of St. Joseph, Mo.; brother, Henry of New Bloomfield, Mo.; sister, Amy Lenk of Columbia, Mo.; one grandson; one granddaughter; one step-grandson; two step-granddaughters; three great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at the Bolivar Christian Church, 2490 West Tower Dr., Bolivar, MO. Memorial donations may be made to the Show-Me Youth Home in LaMonte, Mo.
