Ronald Dale Dunwoody, 69, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017, at his home. Ron was born April 15, 1947 in Moberly to Grover and Betty Stinnett Dunwoody, who preceded him in death. He was married to Judith Goodson on March 29, 1968 in Sherwin, Kansas, and she survives. He graduated high school in Moberly in 1965 and had attended Ozark Bible College. Ron served as the minister for Sherwin Christian Church from 1967-68 and then worked for Boys Town in St. James, Missouri in the Residential Care Unit for 15 years. He owned the first three $1 Stores in the St. Louis area from 1982-1995 and the Nostalgiaville Store in Kingdom City, Missouri from 1996-2013 and continued with its internet web business until his death. Ron's last outing was a time of celebration at the Dunwoody Christmas dinner on December 31, 2016. He will always be remembered as a man who loved his family and was ready and willing to help others in their time of need. Along with his wife, Judi, he taught Sunday School for many years and he had been a member of Timberlake "Union Avenue" Christian Church in Moberly, South Telegraph Christian Church in St. Louis where he served as an Elder for 12 years, Forum Boulevard Christian Church in Columbia, Missouri and Callaway Christian Church in Fulton where he served as an Elder for 17 years. Ron is also survived by aunts, Bonnie and Dollie Dunwoody of Moberly and Leta Wilson of the state of California; uncles, Rex and Fred Dunwoody of Moberly; sister, Karen Page of Jefferson City, Missouri; foster son, Greg Thompson of St. Louis, Missouri; sister-in-law, Diane Goodson of Orlando, Florida; niece, Jennifer (Todd) Bower and their four children of Charlotte, North Carolina; over 40 cousins and numerous "adopted" children and grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a niece, Caralee Page, and a nephew, Joe Page. Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Mark Kummer at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Callaway Christian Church in Fulton. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly, Missouri. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton.
