Mildred Surls Casner, 105, of Fulton, formerly of Mexico, died Friday January 6, 2017, at the Fulton Manor. Mildred was born on February 5, 1911 in Gant, Missouri, the daughter of Vernon and May (Ficklin) Smith. Mildred married Allen Surls, and he preceded her in death in 1966. Later she married Dwight Casner and he preceded her in death in 2009. Mildred is survived by her grandchildren, Abby Gilpin (Karl) of Columbia, and Randy Surls (Arla) of Jefferson City; great-grandchildren, Derek Gilpin, Ashley (Billy) Ison, Megan (Jacob) Blume, Brett Surls, Morgan Surls; great-great-granddaughters, Kennedy Blume, Zoey Ison; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her husbands, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Maude Surls; and three sisters, Velma Graf, Eva Lee Hinton, and Frances Stewart. The family of Mildred would like to thank the staff at the Fulton Manor for their exceptional care of Mildred and her husband Dwight for so many years. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico, with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Memorial donations are suggested to the Fulton Manor in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S.
